Greater Toronto West
Posted on April 1st, 2012

After a long weekend and an (almost) undefeated robot, Team 907 made it to the semi-final matches once more. Seated 8th overall and picked second for alliance selections, we had an excellent run. At the end of the competition we gladly took home the Xerox Creativity Award for our driver station interface and dual-sided intake. Overall, it was a fantastic regional and we wish all of our fellow teams good luck at Championships!

Team 907 had a great time at the Greater Toronto East Regional. After 3 exciting days of competition, we seeded 11th overall. We competed with and against many fantastic teams and were impressed with the overall quality of each and every team’s robot. In the end, East York Cybernetics made it to semi-finals. We all had a great time and look forward to seeing any returning teams at Greater Toronto West!

Over the past two weeks, Team 907’s “Blue Shirts” have been working on LEGO robots for our very own in-school competition. The challenge was fairly simple and was designed as an orientation for the 24 new members this season. The Blue Shirts were split in half and were given a Lego Mindstorm kit each. The teams had graciously dubbed themselves “The Planet Express” and “Team B”. After a set of three 60 second matches, The Planet Express pulled through with a fifteen point lead! Congratulations to The Planet Express and all Blue Shirts for your hard work. This season looks promising!
